Least Squares Estimation of 3D Shape and Motion of Rigid Objects from Their Orthographic Projections

ÐThe extraction of motion and shape information of three-dimensional objects from their two-dimensional projections is a task that emerges in various applications such as computer vision, biomedical engineering, and video coding and mining especially after the recent guidelines of the Motion Pictures Expert Group regarding MPEG-4 and MPEG-7 standards. Present work establishes a novel approach f...

Comparison of 3D Reconstruction Techniques for Engineering Drawings from Orthographic Projections

3D reconstruction of objects form orthographic projections of engineering drawing has been very crucial research area since decades. In this paper, we have critically reviewed the latest approaches dealing with single view and multi view. Different approaches have been discussed with respect to bottom-up and top-down reconstruction. Many other parameters such as type of drawing, shape of object...

Self - calibration of an A ne Camera from Multiple

A key limitation of all existing algorithms for shape and motion from image sequences under orthographic, weak perspective and para-perspective projection is that they require the calibration parameters of the camera. We present in this paper a new approach that allows the shape and motion to be computed from image sequences without having to know the calibration parameters. This approach is de...

Integration of quantitative and qualitative techniques for deformable model fitting from orthographic, perspective, and stereo projections

In this paper, we .synthesize a new approach to 3-0 object shape recovery b y integrating qualitative shape recovery techniques and quantitative physicsbased shape estimation techniques. Specifically, we ,first use qualitative shape recovery and recognition techniques to provide strong fitting constraints on physics-based deformable model recovery techniques. Secondly, we extend our previously ...

Identification of Riccati dynamics under perspective and orthographic observations

In this paper, the problem of identifying motion and shape parameters of a planar object undergoing a Riccati motion, from the associated optical flow generated on the image plane of a single CCD camera, has been studied. The optical flow is generated by projecting feature points on the object onto the image plane via perspective and orthographic projections. Riccati dynamics is to be viewed as...
